When Vikram Gupta discovered that video AI (Artificial Intelligence for Video Surveillance) could become a game-changer in various industry sectors, Awiros was born, a marketplace for video AI applications based on Gurugram.

Vikram Gupta, founder and CEO of Awiros

“During my PhD research at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, on building an operating system (OS) for network-embedded systems, I realized the potential of video AI and grew confident in the democratization of access to this technology that enables client discovery of the source of the video. Analytics solutions easily,” explains Gupta, founder and CEO of Awiros.

Gupta then partnered with Yatin Kavishwar, who was experienced in building and implementing GTM strategies for Tier 1 and IT companies, to accelerate Awiros’ journey. A platform is an operating system similar to the one on mobile phones that enables developers to build their apps. They get 90 to 95 percent of their building blocks ready and only need to add their modules to build monetized applications, causing a 50-70 percent reduction in time to market, according to Gupta.

Today, Awiros claims to have deployed its solutions via 50,000 cameras across more than 14 smart and safe cities in the country. There are already more than 60 commercial-ready apps published on AwirosAppStack, the company explains.

Gupta notes that “Awiros was one of the few deep-tech startups that raised funding in the second half of 2022 despite the volatile funding market.” Last month, the company raised $7 million in Series A funding led by Inflexor and Exfinity to accelerate growth and global expansion.

“As adoption is still in its infancy and requires significant investments in industrial R&D and global GTM, very few venture capital supports such deeptech startups,” says Gupta, crediting Inflexor and Exfinity investors for believing in the company’s vision. and its ability to implement.

After the prolonged negative impact of the pandemic, he is optimistic about the upsurge in market sentiment towards the AI industry. In fact, according to some forecasts, the global video AI analytics market is expected to expand from $7.1 billion in 2022 to more than $20 billion by 2027.

“Awiros differs from other players in the video AI sector because we have created a comprehensive platform and marketplace for video AI applications. From our marketplace, users can deploy different applications according to their needs and developers can also create new applications. Thus, we enable larger solutions with scalability and features instead of To be a single application service provider,” he says as he expands on the company’s USP.

Awiros’ ambitious goal is to become the default entry point for organizations to discover, adopt, and widely disseminate video AI. The company plans to expand into Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North America. It also strives to have a market with more than 1,000 applications catering to the needs of many sectors of the industry.

“The potential of video AI is huge and we are now well positioned to make a global success story from India,” says Gupta.
