The WhatsApp It is currently developing a way for users to submit images in their original resolution without affecting the quality.
WABetaInfo, which Find out the featureReport users will be able to choose the image quality via a new settings menu in the application’s drawing tool. The current version of WhatsApp allows you to choose “Best Quality” before sending images to maintain high resolution, but it still compresses files – just to a lesser extent in order to provide faster data transfer times. But still, having this new level of control will be especially useful in situations where image quality is important, notes WABetaInfo. Not much is known about this feature, but it’s probably safe to say that sending photos at their original resolution will likely increase data transfer time, download time, and the amount of space needed on the device to store said files.
As mentioned earlier, the native image resolution feature is under development, so it won’t be part of any upcoming WhatsApp betas or launched anytime soon. It should also be noted that the update was detected on the Android version of WhatsApp without mentioning whether or not the native image resolution feature will come to iOS.

WABetaInfo is also exposed New shortcuts for the WhatsApp mobile app. These shortcuts will allow group chat admins to “quickly and easily perform actions… [and] simplify some interactions with group members.” The full extent of this feature is unknown, but according to one example, admins can choose to highlight phone numbers when someone joins or leaves a group chat. In addition, admins can create a new context menu for themselves for certain actions such as Call privately chat participants or add them to their contacts.
These shortcuts will be especially useful when dealing with huge groups. Again in November 2022, WhatsApp launched the Communities appLarge-scale chats that can accommodate up to 1024 participants. With big chats, admins need all the tools they can get to manage everything. This shortcut feature will definitely be a huge boon for them.
And unlike the original image quality feature, Shortcuts is currently available for both Android and iOS with their respective beta versions of WhatsApp. Unfortunately for iPhone owners, the TestFlight for WhatsApp It no longer accepts newcomers. If you’re already a subscriber, you can just download the trial version, no problem. Android users can still join Google Play Store beta programHowever.
2023 is set to be a big year for WhatsApp. January alone saw WABetaInfo unveil a slew of experimental features for the messaging app such as the ability to record statuses with your voice and a chat move that again removes Google Drive from the equation.
