Zoom and AMC have been linked into a partnership that will transform movie theater locations across the United States into video conferencing Places.
Users will be able to book their favorite theater online, and then get a three-hour time slot to virtually host the event as zoom rooms across select theaters across the country.
AMC and Zoom It will provide the equipment needed for the entire Zoom Rooms experience, as well as provide the option of snacks and beverage offerings, movie-watching, and concierge-style personal meeting handling.
The collaboration is scheduled to launch in 17 major US markets sometime in 2023, and typical hall sizes are expected to range from 75 to 150 seats, depending on the stage.
These innovative attempts to generate new revenue shouldn’t come as a huge surprise, as the fortunes of the two companies have been mixed as of late.
