This technology was developed to help artists tackle motion blur and poor focus in their images. The neural network has a common understanding of the depth, perspective, and context of an image. With this information, Super SharpAI It can distort focus and correct it by compressing algorithms. As a result, the artist will get a super clear, natural image.
Put it to the test
I decided to try this with an old photo of some penguins from Antarctica. The image is acceptable but not 100% sharp or in focus. Whether I’m moving or the penguin is moving or a combination of the two, I’m not sure.
Starting with Lightroom, I used Luminar Neo SupersharpAI as an additional component. I went to Photo > Edit in > Luminar Neo to open the image in Luminar Neo.
Once I go to Tools and under Extensions, you will see SupersharpAI.
Click that and you will see this menu:
I kept this simple and only worked in the edits section. Click on Universal and you will see this dropdown menu:
From here, select the job; Motion Blur, Defocus, or Universal will make more sense to help improve the sharpness of your image.
For the penguins, I initially tried the global function and it seemed like quite a lot. So, I clicked Motion Blur because that was most likely the cause of the blur in this particular image.
Then Super SharpAI He goes to work. You see it analyzes your photo and “fixes” it.

I was somewhat happy with the results. My curiosity made me want to print it out to see the difference there on paper.
