Why Punjab Govt Launches Rescue Cadet Corps App

For the sake of improving and promoting the rescue and safety culture in the province, Punjab Govt launches rescue cadet corps app (RCC). Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Governor of Punjab, launches the RCC mobile app in Lahore at the governor House during an opening ceremony.

More details are that the RCC app has created by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) with the help of the Punjab Emergency service (PES). 

The purpose of designing this app is to help users to become a responsible citizen through learning safety techniques and lifesaving rescue.

The rescue cadet corps app (RCC) has many things to learn inside it. It also allows the user to access integrated community safety training modules.

RCC application also allows connecting the volunteers connected with several communities. These volunteers can come for online training, registrations and certifications after drilling hands on to their nearest rescue stations.

Whereas praising PES and PITB for the sake of the development of the RCC app. The Governor of Punjab told that basically, this step has taken according to Prime Mister’s vision. He said that Khan’s vision is to take the youth of Pakistan for making Pakistan more prosperous and safer.

Pakistan is getting Turkish T129 Helicopters regardless of US Sanctions

Pakistan is getting T129 attack helicopters form TAI (Turkish Aerospace Industries). Which is originally planned in spite of the sanctions by the US against Turkey. This news has confirmed by a high ranking Army official.

Although speaking at the 2021 defense IQ’s virtual International conference regarding Military Helicopter, the official said that there is a little delay due to some 3rd party approvals. However, the Turkish Govt. is confident that we will get out of these political hurdles and will receive 3rd party certificate also.

Pakistan awarded Turkey with 1.5 billion dollars’ amount as a contract for getting 30 T129 helicopters in the year 2018. Although, US sanctions have slowed down against Turkey as hindmost are necessary to have to get US export license before doing any delivery regarding the helicopters

At the start of this year in January, Pakistan had extended the deadline by increasing the period of 12 months for TAI for delivering 30 T129 attack helicopters.

Last year in December, Turkey bought the Russian S-400 missile system rather than the American-made Raytheon’s Patriot missile system. On doing this the US had imposed sanctions on Turkey.

Next, in the year 2017, while dealing for Russian S-400 through sanctioned Russian export entity Rosoboron export. The reason behind is purchasing the Russian S-400 long range surface-to-air missile system. However, the first associated delivery was received by Turkey in July 2019. The system was tested last year in October.

Why Govt is providing Free IT Training in Hyderabad? Sindh to set-up Software Technology Park

The free training course has announced by Syed Aminul Haq, who is Federal Minister for Information Technology and Communications. He has announced that they are going to provide the 500 youth of Hyderabad with free IT training. He said this while opening the ceremony at the Software Technology Park in Hyderabad. The name of the Institute is the Hyderabad Institute of Arts, Science, and Technology. During his addressing with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony between the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) and On Friday, this announcement was made at HIAST (the Hyderabad Institute of Arts, Science and Technology) at a local hotel.

 

Major achievement

On that occasion, he also said that the MoU between HIAST and PSEB is one of the major achievement. Furthermore, he said that they are going to establish a software technology park at the university campus, online training, capacity building, and developing linkages. So that in this way the IT startups and freelancers will get a great facility.

Presently, there are 16 software technology parks in Pakistan having 1,169,500 square feet of space, he also said. Another point was that there are efficient growth and expansion recorded in export. However, in the field of the IT industry, the focused is concentrated in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. 

 

Launching the 5G technology

He also said that before launching the 5G technology, there must 50% coverage of the 4G network. At present time 4G has covered 41% of the mobile users. There are is an increase in the users as well: 1.4Million user of 4G. By the end of this year, this goal will achieve as well.

According to Haq, said that the federal government is making Pakistan enable to assemble and manufacture mobile phones. The purpose behind that is simple: reducing the high prices. Besides, he said that our aim is that rather than buy a smartphone of Rs 50000 to Rs. 100,000. People can buy Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 12,000.

He appreciated the PSEB for making the information technology park in Hyderabad, the land between 5,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet. This will definitely trigger the growth of the IT sector in the cities of Pakistan’s IT industry.

 

He briefly mentioned some other benefits regarding Technology Park. Including the development of its related ecosystem. For instance, the surrounding area based on the strong science of a technology park. Lastly, he said that it will also result in the development of the entrepreneurial culture as tenants of the technology park that will result in promoting technology experts, startups, and entrepreneurs.

They are going to establish a state of art technology Park. The main purpose behind that the first technology park of Karachi’s construction is to boost the IT sector. According to the company’s plan, they are going to provide high-end technological facilities to local companies and software houses. In the commercial hub of Karachi, it will be the first technology park in Sindh.

In the official notification, it is mentioned to the PSX that the company has acquired 10002 square yards of land in Korangi Industrial Area, at G 18: private. Probably, the IT park will complete in 2 years of time: having inclusive designing and planning phases.

The management of the company is aimed to come up with such a high technology park. A park that having a great infrastructure and high tech platform. So that it will lead software houses and IT companies for boosting their productivity through available facilities and a conducive environment.

If we talk about other countries regarding this, then it’s not new that India has developed 10 to 15 parks. The Philippines are promoting their IT sectors. Such an act of India has resulted in great growth economically and a productive sector. 3 Firms to Start Mobile Production in Pakistan Soon

Yes, that’s true that in three firms are going to start mobile production in Pakistan. The name of these three firms are: firstly, Vivo, secondly Air link and lastly Advance telecom. These firms have declared that their intention is to establish manufacturing units in Pakistan regarding mobile production. This happens after providing them with a relaxed environment regarding tax by the Pakistani Govt. This news is mentioned in Dawn News that the Govt. has eliminated withholding tax on locally manufactured mobile units in Pakistan. So that the assembling and production of mobile parts in the country may increase.

This act of Govt. is also praised by the investors that they are going to abolish the withholding tax because previously the imported mobile phones were cheaper as compared to manufacturing ones. Amir Allahwala, who is the chief executive of a company for manufacturing Infinix and Techno mobiles sets, said that now after the relaxation in the tax, around 1900 Rs price difference has been created per set because the imported one set has to pay a tax of 100.

While, in the meantime, one of the senior officials from the Engineering Development Board (EDB), confirmed that for establishing manufacturing units 3 new entrants have applied, which is also an attached department of the Ministry of Industries and Production (MoIP).

These units have started working in Pakistan’s big cities. Vivo is working in Faisalabad, nest one, Air link in Lahore, and lastly Advance telecom in Karachi.

According to the official, they said that the EDB is the policy that is keeping in consideration for mobile sets manufacturing in Pakistan.  Meanwhile, in the telecom sector of Pakistan, PTA has also issued the regulation of 2021 regarding Mobile device manufacturing.

The PTA’s regulations point out the necessary information, which means the requirements for establishing a manufacturing plant; that includes information such as finances, land, nationality of investors, etc. On the other hand, the EDB is also expressing its views that contests of such detailed information related to establishing the production unit come under the shadow of the MoIP.

The plan directed by the PTA regulation is basically to ensure the comprehensive localization to compete locally producing the packing for at least 2% of the total devices manufactured by the company within one year.

Govt to buy 100 high tech vehicles for Islamabad Security

The Govt. of Pakistan is going to buy 100 high tech vehicles for boosting the security in Islamabad: the Capital city of Pakistan. After buying these vehicles, the security check post will be eliminated.

Keeping in view the relevant details, during the federal cabinet meeting, this decision has taken for purchasing the vehicles. The Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rasheed reported that in Islamabad already out of 33, 30 check posts have been removed from federal capital. Remained 3 posts will be removed after purchasing the 100 digitally equipped vehicles.

Besides this matter, this meeting also gives approval regarding the development of the Rangers outside and inside the polling station for strengthening the security: by-polls of Tharparkar constituency, the NA-221.

This meeting was held in Islamabad with Prime minister Imran Khan as chairperson. They also discussed the economic and political situations as well by keeping in view the pandemic time. The meeting also briefed the Prime minister about the administration of COVID-19 vaccines.

The approval regarding the disparity reduction has also issued to the federal Govt. employees for constructing the office in Karachi of Federal Services Tribunal. During this meeting, the cabinet deferred an appointment as well for the sake of the managing director (MD) of the National Transmission & Despatch Company (NTDC).

For restructuring of the Pakistan Institute of Management (PIM), during this meeting, the federal cabinet issued permission to the board of governors as well.

Banks must enable fully interoperable digital payment options, SBP orders

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued an order to facilitate the bank’s customers


In its order, SBP orders to the banks for allowing their customers for having repayment options Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs). So, the SBP issued the order that it has been decided for all the Banks must enable fully interoperable digital payment options for their ongoing customers. It is just to facilitate the customers with the repayment option in terms of financing facilities (which is defined as the Prudential Regulations for Consumer Financing). According to the SBP’s order here are mentioned the few minimum requirements that must be met:

Firstly, customers’ ADCs, the repayment option must be available including mobile and internet banking for paying bills.

Next, there should be no time limit that only certain fixed hours, the customers are bound to pay the payments. However, the banks’ system shall take the amount either its outstanding loan or the instalment due as well as some specific loan. Regarding this, all the MFBs/banks need to account for that clear information they should provide authentic and updated information for avoiding disputes and confusion.

Furthermore, it is issued that all the Banks/MFBs must possess the discretion for allowing the partial or full payment option regarding any paying amount; by this in their procedures and policies.

Moreover, including the Credit Card bill payments that come under the category of online payments or repayments are need to be considered as final/paid on execution of the transaction date after the customer’s acknowledgement from their using banks.

Before 30 June 2021, all banks/MFBs are bound to follow all the instruction that has mentioned earlier in this article by the SBP.
