The first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 has finally been publicly released – and it looks like an emotionally appropriate ending to the current team’s MCU saga.
Debuting online after its recent showing at the 2022 edition of Brazil Comic-Con, also known as CCXP, the first teaser for Marvel Phase 5 The movie packs a lot into its 90-second running time.
Not only did we get glimpses of Will Poulter’s Adam Warlock, we also get to see the six-armed, gun-powered Groot fighting alongside Star-Lord. Oh, and a very cute looking little Rocket, which we’ll be sure to see how it’s experimented on and becomes the sarcastic, cybernetic-enhanced creature we know and love.

The third Guardians of the Galaxy movie will pick up events after the group’s Holiday Special, which was released recently Disney Plus as part of MCU Phase 4.
In the near future superhero movieChris Pratt’s Star-Lord will still be looking for the 2014 version of Zoe Saldana’s Gamora – not the original Gamorea who died in Avengers: Infinity War – who left the scene after Thanos’ defeat in Avengers: Endgame.
Alongside that, the group also has to contend with Boulter’s Adam Warlock, who is sent after the Guardians after they double-crossed the Sovereign race in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. Oh, and there’s also the small matter of Chukwudi Iwjui’s High Evolutionary – the big bad movie and the individual responsible for turning Rocket into the traumatized and damaged anthropomorphic raccoon he is today.

Elsewhere, we get more of the signature Guardians-style humor (courtesy mainly of Dave Bautista’s Drax), a number of emotionally significant scenes involving Rocket (and his belle otter partner Lylla), and tons of action (see Warlock going to town in Karen Gillan’s Nebula), extensive sci-fi footage and of course a perfectly curated playlist from director James Gunn.
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 will see the series’ biggest stars return for a potential final outing, including Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel, who voice Rocket and Groot, respectively. Gunn is doing dual writing and directing duties for the last time for Marvel as well, as Gunn was recently installed as co-president of DC Studios. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will land in theaters worldwide on May 5, 2023.
