Internet.org Launched in Pakistan Explore 17 Websites for Free on Telenor

As rumors are rotating that Telenor is in collaboration with Facebook today, just launched the internet.org initiative in Pakistan, through which all Telenor customers Prepaid and postpaid have the facility to use selected internet website for free.

Telenor just introduced a program with 17 websites today that are available for free unlimited browsing. Nevertheless, if there external links then it will be charged as per regular tariffs. The leading high-ups of Pakistan has attended this event including Michael Foley, CEO, Telenor, Irfan Wahab, Deputy CEO, Telenor Pakistan and Aslam Hayat Khan, VP, Telenor Pakistan.

Facebook officials, supported by Ime Archibong, Global Head for Strategic Partnerships at Facebook, in top priority of his type representation from Facebook in Pakistan, were also active in the event.

Telenor has said that its internet.org initiative is aimed for first time internet users. Company has said that its currently not looking at any business proposition, instead the whole initiative is targeted to convert more users to internet.

Facebook gets 70% Ad Revenue from Mobile

A recent report has revealed that 70% of Facebook’s Ad revenue was generated from mobile devices during 2015 quarter.

This marks the great volume of revenue produced from mobile for the company since its commencement. The revenue produced in Q1 2015 was over $3.54 billion, which is lower but still very much close to the calculations made by Wall Street.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg mentioned that the rise and fall in the exchange rate were to charge for the lesser revenue. But the question is had the exchange rate same, Facebook would have observed a revenue boost of 55% in spite of 46% increasing the entire revenue produced.
