e-Rozgaar to work with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to create global work opportunities for local freelancers

e-Rozgaar Training Program, an initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Punjab and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) would be working with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a government agency, to create global work opportunities for e-Rozgaar trained freelancers hailing from Punjab. In this regard, two focus group discussion sessions were organized for the representatives of JICA to acquaint them with the concept and functionality of e-Rozgaar and its trained freelancers. The representatives of JICA included their senior officials Hirotaka Izumi, Kimie Tanabe and Dr. Yi Sun.

The online sessions with JICA focused on general and technical know-how and familiarized them with Punjab Government’s vision to empower the youth financially and socially. JICA team was also briefed on the skill levels of Pakistani freelancers as well as the issues they face in terms of acquiring lucrative job opportunities. JICA senior representative Hirotaka Izumi briefed the participants about its mission for ICT development in developing nations like Pakistan. He also appreciated the role of Punjab Information Technology Board in human development in ICT industry of Pakistan through e-Rozgaar Training Program.

PITB & Ejad Labs sign MoU to co-host Pakistan Innovation Roadshow

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has signed an MOU with Ejad Labs to co-host Pakistan Innovation Roadshow to be held in March. The MoU was signed by PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif and CEO Ejad Labs Arzish Azam at Arfa Software Technology Park.

Pakistan Innovation Roadshow aims to highlight the country’s booming tech ecosystem and top tech talent. Additionally, it will offer aspiring freelancers a chance to collaborate and learn from major stakeholders in Pakistan’s tech industry. PITB’s e- Earn and e-Rozgaar teams will collaborate with Ejad Labs and provide support through their partners in order to successfully organize the event across Pakistan.

During the ceremony PITB DG e-Governance Sajid Latif said, “Building synergies in order to develop a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem is an integral part of PITB’s endeavours as these opportunities are a great way for students and aspiring freelancers to learn from experienced professionals in the tech industry.”

CEO Ejad Labs Arzish Azam stated, “Through this roadshow we plan to celebrate and highlight the local tech ecosystem as well as spark meaningful conversations essential for ecosystem development.”

Pakistan Innovation Roadshow will include a number of events like seminars and meet-ups in 15 cities across Pakistan featuring prominent professions as keynote speakers. The overall event will be supported by round-up videos and podcasts. By joining hands in this public-private partnership, PITB aims to boost the tech ecosystem of the Pakistan and create a sustainable environment for the technological advancement of the country.

First Batch of ‘SheWins’ graduated: A training program empowering women in their professional lives

By Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), SheWins, a training program to empowering women designed to develop skills in women for their career growth and empowerment has its first batch with 50 students graduating here today. We all need to contribute one way or the other so that the society remains relevant in times to come, says the Director Entrepreneurship PITB Mr. Atif Mumtaz while addressing the trainees on this occasion.

SheWins is a one week training program focused on helping women develops skills for their career growth and empowerment. After the completion, the graduates will have better communication skills, effective CV building techniques, confidence and exposure to explore job market, better understanding of exploring business opportunities, effective recipe of making teams to kick start their business, a better professional personality, improved decision making abilities as well as the adequate knowledge of professional networking opportunities with better understanding of work life balance.

The Program will qualify them to have a deeper spirit to empower themselves that will consequently add to the economy of Pakistan. By playing an active role in the job market and to opt for starting their own small businesses, women can play a vital role in stabilizing the equilibrium of the society.

The ceremony was graced by the chief guest, Director General e-Governance Mr. Sajid Latif along the guest of honors Director Entrepreneurship PITB Mr. Atif Mumtaz and Program Manager e-Rozgaar Mr. Ahmad Islam. On concluding the ceremony trainees were awarded with certificates by project head and Director.
