peak The opening decision intelligence maturity index found that while the United States was an early pioneer Artificial intelligence (AI), India is now the most mature market when it comes to preparing their businesses for AI adoption.
While the US was an early leader in artificial intelligence, with 28% of US companies adopting the technology more than six years ago – compared to 25% in India and 20% in the UK – India is the most mature market when it comes to leveraging Artificial Intelligence, it scored 64 (out of 100) on Peak’s DI maturity scale, while the US scored 52 and the UK only 44.
How India is working on AI differently
What sets Indian companies apart is the internal communication and education about AI to ensure broad support – 18% of American workers were unsure if their businesses used AI, compared to just 2% of Indian workers. Moreover, 78% of junior employees in India expect AI to have a positive impact on worker welfare over the next five years, compared to 47% in the US.

Drawing on insights from a survey of 3,000 decision makers from companies with at least 100 employees across the US, UK and India, Peak’s Decision Intelligence Maturity Index identifies a number of key indicators of AI business readiness across five pillars: strategy, data, technology, people, process, and value. Each pillar is weighted within the framework, and contributes to an overall index score from 0 (the least) to 100 (the most mature), which is an indication of the company’s ability to effectively adopt, deploy, and exploit DI.
