LG's latest 27-inch OLED monitor hits the gaming sweet spot

LG is following what is strange 45″ UltraGear Curved Monitor With a more modest 27-inch flat screen model. Despite not having any curvature, the new screen shares many of the same features as its big brother.

still file OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) which translates to deeper blacks and brighter whites. Look at the spec sheet HDR10 support is available, which allows the screen to cover 98.5 percent of the DCI-P3 (Digital Cinema Initiatives – Protocol 3) gamut and display a wide variety of colors. The resolution has had a small hit as it is now 2560 x 1440 (2K resolution) pixels with an aspect ratio of 16:9 due to the smaller size of the model. One of the biggest benefits of having a 45″ girth is the added level of immersion and increased peripheral vision. 27 inches is still decent, but you might not get hit by that sneak attack coming from your right.

Same features as before

Aside from the size difference, everything on the 45-inch screen is also on the smaller model.

You still have a lightning fast .03 ms response time The refresh rate is 240 Hz To get a crystal clear picture. 240Hz on OLED is particularly noteworthy as it makes the UltraGear series one of the first monitor lines to have this technology. The surface of the screen has been treated with anti-glare protection to protect against light reflecting off the screen to maintain image clarity. Plus there are both NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync to add an extra performance boost to their GPU.

Like other OLED screens, the 27-inch model is somewhat expensive at $1,000 but still cheaper than a 45-inch screen. Pre-orders are currently open with the collection shipping January 2nd. And if you decide to pre-order, you’ll get it for free Ultra Gear gamepad (Opens in a new tab); Usually $200 on its own. It’s nice to get it for free because it’s hard to imagine shelling out that much money for a mouse pad when there are so many Cheaper and good options Abroad.

Better than 4K resolution

Now comes the main question: is it worth buying this monitor or saving up for 4K? If you are a big gamer, the UltraGear 27 inch monitor is undoubtedly the best choice.

The thing about 4K gaming monitors is that it’s hard to get the most out of them. Sure, the game’s 4K screenshots look really cool on IGN, but it actually comes at the cost of performance. Most games can’t pull out such high quality without caveats (although some come very close). Devices are not around now even with all the developments happening around us. 4K monitors are best used for content creation or the entertainment industry as video quality is not compromised with gameplay. It’s much better to get a 2K monitor that still looks good and can maintain consistently good performance.
