AMD’s RDNA3 graphics cards Next month, but it may be hard to find them online or in brick-and-mortar stores, if the grapevine is right with a fresh confirmation.
As tagged by @harukaze5719 on Twitter, Quasarzone (QSZ) has dropped some info regarding stock levels on the RX 7900 models, which we should naturally eat with a handful of spice.
Also, they shared about RX 7900 series inventory. According to QSZ, early inventory is very low. And we can see the end of the AIB Q4.3/n modelDecember 2, 2022
Alarmingly, Quasarzone predicts that initial inventory levels for RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX It would be “very low,” with usage of the word being the thing of concern, of course.
This makes it seem as if there will be quite a few units on the shelves at least to begin with, when it’s new RDNA 3 GPUs It was launched on December 13th.
There’s a twist here, though, because as @harukaze5719 points out, this likely refers to reference boards – built to AMD’s baseline specifications – while more powerful custom boards from third-party card makers won’t appear until the end of December. . However, those (higher performing) models could arrive at better stock levels, but that’s just an educated guess on the part of the Twitter leaker.
Of course, this whole raft of rumors has to be handled very carefully, as we’ve already pointed out.
Part of the reason we need to be careful with this new rumor is that in the recent past, we’ve heard more positive noises that AMD will have a solid volume of RDNA 3 graphics cards right off the bat.
So, for that to be a direct contradiction, Red’s team is now looking at that theoretically until far away Low inventory levels seem like a stretch. However, what could be the case is that as we touched on above, the first few days, or possibly week, of available RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX GPUs could see scarce inventory (and speculators no doubt having a field day and increasing Things get worse) – but then, by the end of the year, the inventory size could be increased significantly (possibly with custom 3rd party RDNA 3 boards as mentioned).
This couples with other recent speculation we’ve seen that dedicated RDNA 3 cards aren’t likely to come out until two weeks after reference boards (mainly, anyway).
If there are many more third-party models than the reference, this brings another possibility of concern in itself. And it is that dedicated efforts will be expensive and “much more expensive” graphics cards than reference boards, According to another recent rumor.
If true, that could mean we’re seeing a lot more stock at levels well above AMD’s MSRP, and that would be another blow to gamers looking for a new high-end graphics card – what with NVIDIA RTX 4090 And the 4080, the GPUs that are already there, are very expensive. It’s not like the 7900 XT and XTX are anything like affordable even at Team Red’s recommended prices, of course ($899 and $999 in the US).
This is a case where we have to hope the rumor mongers are wrong, but as always, only time will tell. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed, we’re not left hoping that the rumors that an imminent RTX 4070 Ti will have to come to the rescue on the pricing front, Because we are not convinced that this will happenalso.
