Google Drive makes it faster to share files with the people you talk to the most

Google is making it easier to share files with colleagues, according to an entry in the company Articles (Opens in a new tab)with new suggested contacts available directly from the share sheet starting today.

In an effort to improve productivity and cooperationGoogle Workspace has added a new row of suggested contacts below the field you’d normally use to type in a contact’s name or email address, which is set to change dynamically depending on who you share with most.

The company has already started rolling out the update, though it may take about two weeks for some users to see the changes. And that’s if they can, because only workspace and old G Suite accounts will get the new suggestion bar. Personal accounts work unchanged (for now at least).

Besides this update, Google has been busy adjusting its share sheet for the past few weeks.

Earlier this month, Google added the option to control share expiration when sharing a file. Previously, users would have to share a file, then revisit the sharing pane to modify permissions. Now that it’s rolled out (for specific Workspace clients), workers can set up permissions more seamlessly.

Google isn’t the only company making changes to how users share their files. Last month , Radar Pro Technology mentioned that Microsoft could also make adjustments to its process.
