Asus Zenfone 10 could be one of the versions The best phones for 2023, but the company will need to learn from its failures Asus Zenfone 9which was in many ways one of the most disappointing phones in 2022.
It scored 3.5 stars in our review, which isn’t bad at all, but it’s a massive drop from the 4.5 stars it got Asus Zenfone 8 achieved in the previous year. These phones have a lot of potential, so we’re cautiously optimistic about the next model.
It’s probably going to be a while to wait for that, and we haven’t really heard anything about the Asus Zenfone 10 yet. Once we do, we will add any leaks, news, and rumors to this article. But in the meantime, you’ll find the release date and price predictions, along with a wish list of things we want to see.
cut to the chase
- What is this? The next model in the Zenfone line
- When is the exit? Probably around July 2023
- How much will it cost? It is likely to have an upper mid-range price
Asus Zenfone 10: release date and price
There is no news about when the Asus Zenfone 10 will be released, but it probably won’t happen for a long time, as the Zenfone 9 only arrived in July 2022. However, the company isn’t quite in tune with its launch, as the Zenfone 8 was launched in May of its release year. , and Zenfone 7 in August of its release.
So we can’t say with any confidence when the Asus Zenfone 10 will be announced, but we’ll guess around mid-2023.
We can’t say the cost either, but for reference, the Zenfone 9 starts at $699 / £699 (about AU$1,210), so the Zenfone 10 might be similarly priced.
Asus Zenfone 10: news and leaks
While we haven’t heard anything about the Asus Zenfone 10 yet, we do know that one or more Asus phones are coming. It will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2So there’s a good chance that the Zenfone 10 is among them, especially since the Zenfone 9 was powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1.
Gen 2 will be the best Snapdragon chipset of 2023 (at least unless and until the Plus version is released), and it’s likely the best chipset found in any Android phone for at least the first half of the year.
What we want to see
Asus Zenfone 9 left a lot of room for improvement, so the following things are what we want to see most from Zenfone 10.
1. More cameras
The Asus Zenfone 9 only has two rear cameras, which isn’t very much by Android phone standards. So for the Zenfone 10 we’d like to see at least a third added – specifically a close-up.
It would also be nice if Asus could improve the shutter speed, as in our review of the Zenfone 9 we found that the phone often took a while to actually take a photo, which can lead to blurry shots.
2. Lower price
The Asus Zenfone 9 has a higher mid-range price tag, but it approaches the high-end, sitting only slightly below the likes of Samsung Galaxy S22 phone And the iPhone 14. It is also more expensive Google Pixel 7the offered specifications and features do not fully justify this.
So for the Asus Zenfone 10, we’d like to see either a price drop or a significant improvement in the phone itself.
3. Small screen
Zenfone 9 has a built-in 5.9-inch screen, and we want the Asus Zenfone 10 to have a similarly small screen. So we’re not asking for changes here – we very much want that aspect to stay the same.
There aren’t many compact phones out there these days, particularly ones with fairly high-end specs like the Zenfone 9, so we’d like to see that continue with the Zenfone 10, as there’s definitely an audience for them, wherever they are.
4. Glass back
Despite a fairly premium price tag, the Zenfone 9 has a plastic back, which is something we’d expect more from a budget phone, despite Samsung’s attempts to finally make it acceptable.
So we hope the Asus Zenfone 10 will have a glass back. We can’t imagine it would add a significant amount to the cost, and make the phone look and feel much more worthy than its potentially higher average price.
5. Bigger battery
The Zenfone 9 packs a small 4,300mAh battery, and while that may seem reasonable given that it also has a fairly small screen, it’s worth noting that Sony Xperia 5IV Marginally larger, but capable of accommodating a 5,000mAh battery.
Regardless, the Zenfone 9 doesn’t have great battery life, so it clearly needs a bigger juice pack, or some improvements, and we’d love to see life improved for the Asus Zenfone 10. If that’s the case, then it could eventually be one of the The best small phones.
