Tech giant Apple is facing challenges in China and in many other countries amid close competition with rival brand offerings, and now the company has reduced the price of its flagship device, the iPhone 15.
Apple has cut prices on its iPhone 15 models, offering discounts of up to 20 percent to boost sales. Buyers can avail discount from Alibaba's Tmall, with 256 GB iPhone 15 Pro Max Now priced at $1100.
The iPhone 15 128GB model is now more than 20 percent cheaper at 4,599 yuan, down from 5,999 yuan. The sale is scheduled for May 20-28.

Despite these discounts, Apple's online Apple Store has maintained its prices. The cuts indicate Apple's efforts to stimulate demand for its main product, after a decline in iPhone sales in China and other regions in the first quarter.
The US phone market in China fell to 15.7% in the same quarter, compared to 20.2% a year earlier, due to competition from Chinese brands such as Vivo, Honor and Huawei.
