After a justified grumble from longtime Overwatch players, Blizzard has slashed the prices of vintage cosmetics.
release Monitor 2 Blizzard has seen skins and other cosmetics re-release from the original game. One of these vintage looks was so steep they set you back 1,900 coins – that’s $19 / £16.34 / AU$29.26 per cosmetic. Blizzard lowered the price after complaints from fans, but there is a problem.
A step forward
Ancient Legendary Skins now cost 1,000 coins ($10 / £8.60 / AU$15.40), but only if you buy them with coins earned from playing the original Overwatch game. This means that new players cannot enjoy these cheaper sales.
There are more caveats to this deal since the discounted price is only for Legendary Legacy Skins (try to say that quickly without faltering). So you’ll have to pay the original price if you’re looking to cut out some vintage Christmas looks in time for the holiday season.
Since the release of Overwatch 2, the new store has proven controversial. While skins and items from the previous game are available, their purchase will all be available It costs more than 10,000 USD. Many of these items were available for free in the original game. This change of old forms and credits is a much-needed step in the right direction.
Although it’s not the same as getting skins for free, as in the first game, it’s at least less expensive. Not only does this show that Blizzard listens to players’ recommendations and complaints, but it also rewards old players who saved their old credits – when Overwatch 2 launched, the money you made in the original game was transferred to the sequel, but it wasn’t. Not worth modern coins. By offering outdated prices, it takes a bit of having to buy cosmetics that were previously freely available.
Limited Deal
Blizzard did not indicate that this offer is for a limited time. We hope this is a permanent change in store. However, the old credits are unfortunately limited. Since you can only earn them from the original Overwatch, there is no way to save old credits now that the game is discontinued.
Your only other option to save Overwatch 2 credits and get ancient skins for free is to earn coins by completing weekly challenges. At a maximum of 60 coins per week, you will be able to purchase all ancient skins in them [checks notes] 327 years old.
This is not a big step forward, and it will not save 35 million Overwatch 2 players (Opens in a new tab) Lots of money, but at least it cuts the pain of $19 skin tags.
