In the spirit of the festive season, Venmo It is updating its mobile app to make it easier to donate to local charities.
By first clicking on the Venmo app’s search bar, you’ll see a new selection titled “Donate.” There, you will meet a wide range of popular local charities. Specific categories also exist, including, but not limited to, Animals, Environment, Homelessness, and Veterans. You can choose to pay with either your in-app balance, bank account linking, or any credit card you have on file, According to the advertisement (Opens in a new tab).
you have to pay a Small transaction fees (Opens in a new tab) 1.9 percent plus an additional $0.10, but no setup. You can start donating right away.
All of the charities in Venmo’s new division are approved by parent company Paypal, but we still recommend doing a little homework and making sure you donate to a good place. Some charities, such as the Salvation Army, have a blue check mark. This means that the charity has submitted all the necessary paperwork to Paypal, proving its legitimacy. From what we can tell, most charities are not verified.
The update is currently available for download on both iOS (Opens in a new tab) And the android (Opens in a new tab). And over the coming weeks, Venmo will be adding a feature to share donations made with your friends as a way to encourage them to do the same.
In addition to a new charity section, Venmo is redesigning its peer-to-peer payment screen with some quality of life changes that make it easier to send (or better receive) money.
Now, you’ll see the profile picture of the person you’re sending money to instead of just the name, and the dollar amount will appear in a larger font for easier viewing. Sending and requesting money will be made easier with a new Plus button next to the recipient’s profile picture. By clicking on the button, you can add more people for one big transaction instead of doing it one by one.
However, the Send Money redesign is being rolled out today along with the Charities section Other reports (Opens in a new tab) It is mentioned that this particular change may not reach all users at once. It will arrive in a later wave, at which point you will have to update the app a second time.
And with Black Friday almost here, Venmo’s redesign couldn’t have come at a better time. TechRadar has a file Huge list of Black Friday deals which you must check. They range from laptops to gaming consoles and even mattresses.
