The Death Stranding 2 trailer series continues the tradition of being eccentric

While Death Stranding 2 is no surprise, after all, back in May, actor Norman Reedus said he was appearing in a sequel. But we now have official confirmation and the first trailer for the game. Most importantly, the trailer confirms that the sequel will continue the series’ tradition of being totally weird.

I’ll do a good job of describing what happens in the Death Stranding 2 reveal trailer, but you might want to watch it for yourself. You can find them below, but in a nutshell: Men in red, insect-like armor storm into a cave, and Léa Seydoux escapes from them on an electric unicycle. She was hit by a bullet, and we see a baby crying black tears in her womb. Then the white-haired Norman Reedus climbs some stairs and watches a flying ship rising from a lake of ink.

If that doesn’t paint a good enough picture for you, I think you can watch the trailer:

I’ve played through all of Death Stranding, but I’ll admit it’s a bit of a blur. Campaigning in 40 straight hours to prepare for a review tends to have the information you learn falling out of your head as quickly as it entered it. So, in terms of how this trailer relates to the events of the previous game, other than seeing returning characters, nothing jumps out.

The story at the end of Death Stranding has closed the episode, in terms of getting the full thread on Mads Mikkelsen’s character, and his absence from the Death Stranding 2 trailer might suggest he won’t be returning. So, perhaps instead, the focus will be on Sam rebuilding America, now that he’s built a coast-to-coast filament web?

All we can be sure of is that Hideo Kojima will offer something odd for AF.
