AI surveys Instagram, ranks Denver among the happiest cities in the US

Denver (KDVR) — If Netflix’s “Black Mirror” teaches viewers anything, it’s that keeping the AI at arm’s length may help you avoid starring in your personal Twilight Zone dilemma.

But now, researchers have avoided that concern and instead are collaborating with artificial intelligence to analyze faces in order to rank the 100 largest cities in the country in order to discover the happiest cities.

With the help of Microsoft’s face recognition API known as I visitAnd the House Fresh Compile several of the best lists, including one that named Colorado the third happiest state in the country.

To generate these ratings, House Fresh used its facial recognition tool to scan Instagram photos taken in each of those cities and give them a happiness score between 0 and 1 that rates the “person pictured”Emotions based on characteristics and expressions. ”

After all the pictures in a given city were given a happiness score, an average was tabulated, which was used to compare with other countries.

Another ranked list generated by Azure Image Survey revealed that Colorado as a whole was also among the top 10 “smartest” states in the nation.

Looking down this list, it looks like the least-smiling citizens of Denver have some work to do when it comes to improving their appearance, but counting them in the top 20% of any ranking is, more often than not, something to bear with all Pride.

This may be a hoax in the long run, but if this study is anything to do, it appears that AI is able to segment some moderately sophisticated data without sending the receiver into an existentially driven crisis.
