Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU Shows Its Muscle in 13K Games

NVIDIA RTX 4090 He’s a monster in 4K games, and even capable of handling it 8K resolutionBut what about 13 kilos? Well, he can manage there too – almost – as one YouTuber has proven.

The key to this 13K feat, as you might imagine, is finding a game that isn’t too demanding — because that’s a lot of pixels to contend with (up to 8K, to be fair) — and in this case, that game is Genshin Impact.

Yes, this is primarily a mobile game, but there is a PC version of the action RPG (and spin the console), but due to its mobile roots the specs are unexpected (Genshin Impact will run on an Nvidia GT 1030, with the GTX 1060 as the recommended GPU ).

shred Tom’s devices (Opens in a new tab) Reports, YouTuber golden references (Opens in a new tab) It ran on an RTX 4090 with a resolution of 13,760 x 5,760 and it managed to achieve an average of 30 frames per second (fps).

Analysis: Is there any sense in that? Yes and no

Now, 30fps is minimal for gaming palatability, which means it’s smooth enough to feel good – but you really want more than that for a properly pleasing frame rate. Most people look for 60fps as a magic milestone in this regard, but 30fps is playable nonetheless – a pretty amazing feat at 13k, in all honesty.

30fps is the average frame rate, of course, so there are dips below that to around 25fps sometimes, and that’s without much action happening on screen either. Therefore, there is no doubt that in the midst of matters there will be moments of anger, but this is more of a show of feat and not a practical exercise.

It should be noted that the golden reviewer does not have 13,000 Show (And no one else does, as far as we know anyway), so the decision is achieved by raising the bar.

In other words, the monitor can’t display native 13K, but upscaling to 13K (on a lower resolution screen) means it offers an amazing level of detail (so much so that you won’t need to run Anti-aliasing for example smooth out jagged edges, as everything will be Very sharp and crisp from the start). The golden reviewer demonstrates the clarity of the displayed image by zooming in to the 500% level where the graphics remain crystal clear.

The drawback is that the texture of the game is not 13K resolution, which means that some distortion is introduced on that front.

However, Genshin Impact looks hugely impressive at 13K, and one of the commenters on the video tried the same trick using RTX 3090. A little spice is required as always, but the result appears to have been an average frame rate of 12fps at 13k – which means the RTX 4090 is a huge step up here (considering there will be variants other than the console graphics processing, normally).
