iCloud for Windows app users are reporting some rather strange errors with photo and video content when accessing the platform on a PC.
Numerous complaints about MacRumours forum (Opens in a new tab) It details users’ alleged experiences of photos and even videos of strangers showing up in their library on the iCloud app for Windows. Also, videos taken with the iPhone 13 Pro and 14 Pro appear to be glitching when synced to the platform, with blank screens and scan lines remaining.
The problem appears to be isolated to Windows devices, specifically to the iCloud for Windows app, not the latest one iCloud Photos integration with Windows 11. It also appears to be an issue with Apple servers and not an issue on Microsoft’s side.

There is a lot of speculation about what caused the problem and how. Apparently, iCloud for Windows instances running on both Windows 10 and 11 are affected, but only some devices may be causing the problem, such as those with HDR and HEVC options turned on, indicating a display issue.
The complaints mainly stem from users of the latest iPhone 13 Pro and 14 Pro. One of the more bizarre incidents that the original poster recounted on Mac rumors Forum is the explicit inclusion of photos of other users in the frames of their videos. It was only when they downloaded the video to their computer from the iCloud app that the glitch occurred.
The user claims that he was able to reproduce this issue on three different devices, one using Windows 10 Pro and the other using Windows 11 Pro. The video in question was shot on an iPhone Pro 14 Max with HDR and HEVC enabled, but they reported no issues with videos from the iPhone 13 Pro Max. However, other users had the same error on this form.
The problem has not yet been officially confirmed, although many users have already reported the problem to Apple.
