We still don’t have new information from the Meta about Instagram…whatever that is. It’s not quite an outage, our accounts are still active, and the majority of users seem unaffected. However, it is clear that an audio number of accounts have been suspended for no apparent reason, and whether this was a mechanical glitch or the result of human intervention is unknown.

For now, let’s call this an Instagram Mass Suspension Event. We will continue to follow Instagram users as well as the PR teams at Meta and Instagram to see if any fix is on the way, and if suspended accounts can expect to be reactivated on Instagram anytime soon.

Meta responded to our inquiries about Instagram, even though the company didn’t give us anything new. A Meta spokesperson says:

“We are aware that some Instagram users in different parts of the world are having issues accessing their Instagram accounts. We are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible and are sorry for the inconvenience.”

Judging from what we saw in the multilingual response to #instagramdown on Twitter, it seemed clear that this is a global problem, not just affecting one region.

There are still many unanswered questions from Meta. We asked if the specific issue was fixed, but Meta didn’t give us an answer. We also wondered if Meta would ensure that accounts were fully restored, but we received no response to that query either.

It looks like the Instagram down news will remain anecdotal, so we’ll be following users for more information.

First, the Instagram PR team directed people to check it out instagramcomms (Opens in a new tab) Twitter, but the account hasn’t been updated at all since its initial crypto post “We’re aware…we’re looking into…” four hours ago. Since then there has been no news, and while we are tech radar (Opens in a new tab) And many of our individual editors have not reported any problems, and it is clear that the problem persists.

This is only evident by following the hashtag #instagramdown on Twitter, which has become a kind of springboard for Instagram posts that cannot be posted to Insta. Many Instagram users have gone from reporting an outage or complaining about the problem and are now posting photos or groups of photos that they say are for Instagram.

Instead of getting content from an unverified user, you can check a post from a professional soccer player Lucy Bronze (Opens in a new tab) Instagram mocks are working on Twitter today. It is interesting and unfortunate that since Instagram directs users to Twitter for news, the new Twitter CEO threatens The service aspect that makes it a verifiable resource.

As we’ve been waiting to hear about a fix for the issue, we’ve been reminded how dark mode arrived Instagram And other apps from 2018 onwards, and how it helped our eyes as we were browsing through nutrition in bed.

I think that was a good analogy – if it rains, you will find shelter, which is the same with social media platforms.

If one falls, you go to the other to see if anyone else has fallen into the storm.

Our lifestyle editor, Josie Watson (Opens in a new tab) He mentioned an interesting point in this limbo as no one knows what is going on and if the issue is currently being fixed.

Mainly due to the fact that customer service from Meta, Twitter and others in social media is almost non-existent, where do influencers and companies go to try and find a solution to this compared to the average user?

At the moment, there is no one approach, it is a wait and see approach, and this can be alarming to many who want to connect with their fans, but are blocked from their accounts.
