Google Pixel 7a leak promises display, battery and camera upgrades

We’re starting to get a better idea of what a file is Google Pixel 7a Sometime during 2023, the latest leak regarding the phone covers the display, battery charging capabilities, and the camera.

According to some excavation work done by the developer Kuba Wojciechowski (Opens in a new tab)which has a better track record when it comes to phone leaks, the Pixel 7a will run a screen with a 90Hz refresh rate – above 60Hz on average. Google Pixel 6a.

The screen seems to remain 1080p, but the refresh rate matches the standard Google Pixel 7 It would be welcome, and would mean a more fluid interface experience (Pixel 7 Pro, you know, goes up to 120Hz).

Cameras and charging

When it comes to the rear camera, Wojciechowski says the 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor and 13MP Sony IMX712 ultrawide sensor, which should equate to a huge leap from the 12MP + 12MP dual camera on the Pixel 6a.

Finally, the phone comes with wireless charging (albeit slow wireless charging), which is another upgrade over its predecessor. There’s no word yet on the potential battery capacity, which was 4,4110mAh on the Pixel 6a released last year.

Google announced the Pixel 6a phone in May 2022, as part of Google IO Event. The chances of Google doing something similar in 2023 seem high, although we don’t yet know the exact dates when the next IO conference will take place.

Analysis: Promising mid-ranger

From what we’ve learned here, the signs are promising for the Google Pixel 7a. All the upgrades are in key areas, and they should really make a difference in the experience of owning and using a smartphone.

With the global pandemic we’ve all been living with, the mid-range Pixel series has faltered a bit. The Google Pixel 5a It was only launched in the US and Japan, offering no more than the Pixel 4a that preceded it.

The Google Pixel 6a It was widely available, although we felt its poor battery life and slow charging speeds limited its appeal. Google knows that in the tough mid-range category, it takes a lot to stand out from the competition.

With the Google Pixel 7a, this might just happen: The key to this series of phones is to keep the price down while offering just a taste of premium-level specs and features, so it’ll be interesting to see how much the Pixel 7a sells for when it finally comes out.
