The third batch of the Digital Humanities Weekly Meetup takes place from 2 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26 at World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio, JB Hunt room 207.
The weekly DH meet takes place alternately between Wednesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. at the World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio. The meeting will explore the intersection of digital technology and human thought in both theoretical and practical applications. DH Meet-Up seeks to create a multidisciplinary and diverse constellation of educators, researchers, students and faculty, across the U of A campus, as we examine and interrogate what digital humanities mean today.
On October 26, meeting participants will explore surveillance and artificial intelligence and discuss the following text: “America Under Watch: Face Surveillance in the United States,” which can be found at www.americaunderwatch.com. The meeting will be led by Chy’Na Nellon, Ph.D. Candidate in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies, Carter Buckner Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science.
Refreshments will be provided at the meeting.
