Sindh Government decides to ban import of exotic animals

According to Pakistan Tech News, the Sindh Government has made a very important move in banning the import of non-native animals. The reason behind this decision is to maintain ecological balance and protect local wildlife.

This trend of exotic pets and non-native species has been going on for years in Sindh, according to officials, causing damage to the native environment and local ecology. According to the new rules, no entity or organization will be able to import or trade foreign species unless proper environmental clearance is obtained.

The Environment Department describes the step as important towards the protection of biodiversity and eradicating illegal trade in wildlife. The government has also announced a registration and monitoring system is being introduced for the non-native animals already existing to prevent their misuse.

Mahireen thinks that the Sindh move is a positive addition to Pakistan’s wildlife protection framework and could set an example for environmentally friendly and sustainable governance.
