The Punjab government has ensured to implement new traffic rules and penalties for betterment on the roads and for traffic discipline. A report by the Pakistan Tech News added that these rules are designed to help reduce accidents, control rash driving, and make the public transport system much safer.
As per the new rules, drivers will face harsher punishment for speeding, driving while using a mobile phone, or jumping traffic signals. The government has also declared that the e-challan system is being upgraded to make the detection of violation and fine collection more transparent.
Traffic Department officials say that this measure will increase awareness of road safety and encourage the public to practice responsible driving. In addition, traffic education campaigns will be launched in schools and universities to educate students on safe driving and pedestrian safety.
The new rules have provisions that may result in suspension or even cancellation of licenses in case of repetition. The move will, therefore, be a stern warning to careless road users as it prioritizes road safety.
According to an analysis carried out by Pakistan Tech News, if these reforms in traffic are implemented effectively, they could improve the rate of accidents and the emergency response system. The government is using digital monitoring and AI-based traffic management tools to try and track road violations in real-time.Presently, these rules have been implemented in all major cities of Punjab, and the authorities have appealed to the public to follow the new rules and demonstrate safe and disciplined driving.
