PTA releases list of licensed VPN providers — Safe and legal VPN use now possible for Pakistanis

According to a report by Pakistan Tech News, PTA has finally published a list of licensed VPN providers whose services Pakistani users can now utilize without any fear for secure and legitimate access to the internet. The move has been taken to regulate online communications in a very transparent manner under the relevant cyber laws.

Officials said the PTA has identified and accredited various international and local VPN service providers to facilitate the legitimate use of their services regarding business operations, research activities, and secure browsing.

In the wake of this development, the use of unregistered VPNs would henceforth be considered an illegal and punishable offense. The PTA reiterated that persons accessing the internet through unauthorized VPNs might attract punishment and legal consequences. This step, according to an analysis by Pakistan Tech News, moves Pakistan’s digital framework toward a secure, legally structured internet environment wherein privacy and protection are balanced.
