No More Lines! Pay Passport Fees Online in Just 3 Steps

Paying passport fees has become easier than ever for Pakistani citizens. According to a report in Pakistan Tech News, the government has introduced a digital system that allows you to pay your passport fees online in just three simple steps—without any lines, waiting, or manual processes.

This new system was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the National Bank of Pakistan. Its aim is to provide modern digital convenience to the public and minimize manual payments. Now, people can pay their passport fees from home using a mobile app or website.

First, you need to visit the official website or mobile app of the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports (DGIP) and enter your personal details and select your passport type. The system then automatically displays payment options—such as 1Link, ATM, Internet Banking, or EasyPaisa/JazzCash. You can choose the method that best suits you and make the payment. Once the payment is complete, a confirmation slip is automatically generated, which you must submit along with your application.

This process not only saves time but also increases transparency, as every payment is directly saved in a digital record. Officials say the purpose of introducing the online payment option is to make the passport system paperless and corruption-free.

According to Pakistan Tech News analysis, this initiative is a practical step towards the Digital Pakistan vision. Now citizens are free from manual queues and unnecessary paperwork, and further updates are expected in the next few months to further streamline the system.

Currently, this service is available across the country, and officials say that in the future, this model will be implemented for other government services as well, so that every Pakistani citizen has both digital access and convenience.
