Here’s a new idea for RTX 4090 If you’re worried that a massive graphics card is causing some deterioration in your computer case: a built-in spirit level.
Yes, you read that right: A European graphics card manufacturer by the name of Manli came up with the idea of incorporating a spirit level (actually a couple) into the board itself, on the side.

Note that a Chinese graphics card maker, whose name we won’t mention, allegedly stole the design from Manli and Photoshopped its own logo at the top instead, in what appears to be a shameful publicity snatch (hence no mention of the brand). Boo, hiss, etc….

In addition to this support stand, Manli explains that the Gallardo RTX 4090 has a reinforced metal (aluminum) backplate for added “structural rigidity,” and it’s a totally smart looking card. Although we’re not at all sure about the partial coverage of one of the three fans with the metal shroud partially overlapping it. (That couldn’t be a good idea in terms of airflow, could it?)
VideoCardz notes that this is a 3-slot card, but in Manli’s press release and specs, it clearly states that it’s a 3.5-slot board, so about the expected size (and somewhat bulky). But hopefully these above features will help as they were designed for, and the spirit level system will let you know of any dips.
In theory anyway, but what if your computer isn’t really level – or rather, the desk it’s sitting on isn’t level, or the room’s floor isn’t really level? You can get an actual spiritual level to check these things out first, of course. Similarly, it could be said that you can stick a spirit level on any board to check it (with the computer turned off, normally, and take the usual precautions), but the point of this integrated effort is that it will appear constantly, over time, if there is any problem with the development.
However, it’s still pretty interesting – and with a support chip in place, there shouldn’t be any issues – so perhaps that’s why Manli didn’t mention the integrated spirit level system on their webpage for the Gallardo RTX 4090. Or at Nowhere in the specs, or a press release for that matter.
However, we have nothing against trying new ideas, and it doesn’t hurt to have the system, even if we’re not really sure of the added value here.
